Always good to see a project taking shape — Boundary Rd, Accra

Topping-out progress at Boundary Rd, Accra — another step forward in shaping a new addition to the city skyline.

It is always rewarding to see a project move from drawings to concrete, steel, and real space. This development, led by our one and only Tsega as Lead Architect, is taking form floor after floor, and the quality of the spatial vision is clearly visible on site — from the structural clarity to the sculptural stair core that is becoming one of the defining elements of the building.

I also want to highlight the importance of leadership diversity in our industry. Seeing a project of this scale in Accra led by a woman architect is not only significant for this building, but for the broader African AEC sector, where the presence of women in senior design and decision-making roles is still growing. The industry across the continent is evolving, and strong female leadership in architecture, engineering, and construction is playing an increasingly important role in raising the level of design, coordination, and project delivery.

At MATS Architects, we are involved in the Construction Administration of the project, supporting the execution through a coordinated BIM-based workflow to maintain alignment between design intent, site conditions, and construction.

Accra continues to grow, and it is exciting to contribute — step by step, floor by floor — to a skyline that reflects the ambition of the region.
